33,720 words, now.
Archive for November 26th, 2007I took six days off of writing, trying to give my hands time to heal. They aren’t 100% right now, but they are down to a dull ache just some of the time, versus a roaring pain all of the time. So, I’m now doing this a little differently. I’m writing a page of words on a pad of paper, then coming to the computer and transferring the words to my nano-document. Then I go back to the paper again. When I’m handwriting, I’m resting my forearm on an ice pack, from elbow to wrist, hoping to keep the swelling down. I’m also keeping my system full of Aleve to help with the swelling. So far, I’ve gotten my word count up to 32,495. To keep at an even pace for the next five days, I need to get 3676 words per day. So today, my goal is to make it to 35,295 words. *sigh* We’ll see how that goes. Handwriting isn’t all that more comfortable than typing, but at least if I switch between the two, I’m not putting the same stress on my hands all the time…and of course, I’m breaking up all of that writing with housework as well. Anyhow, encouragement is welcome….I really really want to get this 50,000 words by Nov. 30th, crazy as the goal is. Knowing my friends and family are cheering me on helps me know I’m not in it alone. Thanks to those of you who have been offering your support along the way! Off I go to do more. Updates later. |
