Just finished watching the debate from ABC/Facebook in New Hampshire. I didn’t catch all of the Republican debate, as we tuned in late. I was interested to put a face, a voice and a general attitude to all of the candidates. I still have research to do on their records and I want to watch more debates if I can.
Has anyone else been following the debates/primaries? Is everyone registered to vote? We sent in our registrations a few weeks ago and I’m hoping they made it in before the 12/31 deadline. I’d like to vote in the primaries.
Both of the kids are camped out on the living room floor tonight. Neither wanted to go to bed and since we didn’t want to fight about it, we let them crash out there. All we asked was for them to lay quietly, but that was hard for them…especially for X. He’s so used to laying down with me to go to bed that other options were hard for him to accept…but he did fall asleep eventually with his head buried under a pillow.
J was awake longer, but she was paying attention to the debate. I don’t think she understood all of it, because she kept looking at us with questions in her eyes. We’ll have to sit down and talk with her more about it all. Still, I’m glad she had the chance to watch the debate tonight. It’s not too early for her to start seeing what the political process is.
On that note, one thing I was disappointed about with both parties was the lack of discussion about education. The only candidate I heard say anything about it was Richardson and he only just touched on it. I got frustrated with the Republicans because there were several candidates dominating the debate and they weren’t the ones I most wanted to hear from.
I hope I get to catch more debates. Need to do some more reading up on candidates.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. ![]()

I wrote about this myself! My feelings, especially about education not being a topic of discussion, were similar. I probably went a little overboard, but since hubby is sick of hearing my opinions, I had to vent!
