Monday again. J went off to school, bright and early. Toph is home today, since he worked Saturday. It’s been a lazy morning so far.
I was laying bed this morning, staring around my room and I came across a cross stitch sampler my mom made for us. It has our names, the date we got married and then it says “To Love and To Cherish”. I love it. But as I was sitting there staring at it, my brain went into shock.
1998. It’s 2008, now. Cripes, has it been ten years since we got together? It doesn’t seem like it’s been that long. Ten years since we agreed that me moving to Ohio was a long term commitment. In March, it will be ten years since we made the commitment “official”. In October, our oldest will turn ten years old. Ten years. Wow.
I suppose it may not seem so momentous when compared with my parents who celebrate 35 this year, or to my inlaws who celebrated 40 this past year…or even to both sets of my grandparents who made it to 50. Still, ten years is a THIRD of my life.
Anyhow, it made me stop and contemplate things earlier. Although I rationally knew 2008 meant ten years, I don’t think it had reall connected in my head.
